Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) can be described as a condition in which the ovaries stop functioning before the age of 40. It is also referred to as premature ovarian failure or premature menopause. It disrupts the cycle of a woman’s periods and gives her many of the symptoms associated with menopause.
