What is it?

Lichen sclerosis (LS) is a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune condition affecting the skin around the genital area. It affects approximately 1 : 100 people. It is more common in women than in men. It tends to affect the vulva, but it can spread to other areas of the genitalia, including, clitoris the vagina and anus.
It is a painful and chronic skin condition that affects women of all ages, but especially menopausal women.
